Worship and Sacraments
The Packanack Community Church is a family of faith that gathers together for worship every Sunday morning at 10:00am. Our pews are filled with people of all ages, backgrounds, abilities and beliefs. We offer a meaningful worship service firmly grounded in traditional elements of liturgy while at the same time designed to help people experience the transcendent presence of a sovereign God in a hurting world.
We recognize and celebrate two sacraments – baptism and the Lord’s supper – as the means of grace by which we are incorporated into the Body of Christ and nurtured in our faith. All those who have confessed their faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior are invited to participate in the sacrament of the Lord’s supper, which is celebrated on the first Sunday of every month.
Sunday school classes are available for children ages 3 through Eighth Grade. Students attend the first twenty minutes of worship and then participate in a Children’s Sermon, after which they are dismissed to their classes. Sunday school ends at 11:20am. On the first Sunday of every month, students participate in a Children’s Communion Service, which is held in our fellowship hall prior to the start of their classes. The Sunday school program is further enhanced with music twice a month, seasonal events and periodic mission projects. Nursery care is available for children under 3. Anyone who may not want to walk through the parking lot or climb the front steps is encouraged to use the handicapped-accessible entrance and parking on Mountainside Drive.
